Has anyone tried their wp8 device with NFC yet? Interested to know what can be achieved with it.

I want to want to write tags to change settings and stuff.

Unfortunately that's not going to happen. Yet. I hope someone gets a feature rich NFC app out soon.

Shame the UK didn't get the NFC tags in the box, like the US 920s.

I'm dying to try the NFC app, and see if I can use tags to turn WiFi on and off, or start music player.

Have you tried NFC Interactor? Works fine for me.

Did the Canadian ones come with NFC tags in the box?

To the OP, NFC Interactor is looking to add this functionality. It supports much already, and I expect over time, it will support more.

You cam use it to write a tag that'll interact with apps and settings? I cannot make heads or tails out of the app.

For Android and Blackberry NFC apps, you can change settings on your phone, but I think NFC interactor is still new so it doesnt have those features yet, it can only encode basic things.
