That is my question of the day? The metro app for windows phone 8...what is it's actual purpose? It doesn't allow you to sync apps, browse the app store, view your account, sync music, etc... Besides transferring of pictures and videos....what can you do with it?

I could be wrong, but I thought the app was only for Win phone 7.5 or below. That Win8 phone synced with skydrive, no need to connect to pc.

The Metro App is pointless, it just breaks down your storage and adds songs and photos. The desktop app does they same thing, but it also allows you to sync your Zune playlists. Just make sure if you have Zune Pass songs in there to have them updated to Xbox music files since the drm got updated. Yes, your playlists are in the cloud and show up on your phone. But, if you want them physically on your phone you have to go through and download each one and any song Xbox music couldn't match in the cloud does not show up.
