Lumia 820/920 won't sync to pc when charge is low

Has anybody run into this? I have a 920 and my wife has the 820. It seems that if their charge is below 50%, they can't connect to the PC to sync. If charge up they will. I can sync and do everything when the charge is closer to full.

Any thoughts? Might this be in the fix coming in December?
