I don't really like starting new topics(especially if it's my first post), but I was only able to find reference to this issue once and that was off-topic sooo...
Typed emoticons don't get converted at all, unlike Windows 8 messenger, and Windows Phone 7/7.5. Not even the typical :), :(, :P and what not. Not so bad because you can easily see what they are. But all the messanger ones like (6), (f), (boo) and so on don't get converted either.
So messaging with my gf i just get a whole bunch of things in parentheses now instead of the emoticons I'd get on WP7 and Win 8, which is annoying to say the least.
Now, I realise that WP8 introduced that whole new emoticon selection thing, but half of them don't work (I think she was on a WP7.5 device at the time) and a lot of the ones I used are missing anyway.
Is this behaviour normal? or am I missing a setting somewhere. I can't seem to find anything related.
Oh, I have a Lumia 920.
