WP8 emoticons

Anyone else thinks the new emoticons in WP8 are ugly?

I might be the only one here, but I actually prefer the old WP7 ones.
At least they were consistent with 2-tone theme of the OS.

The new ones are too small, there are too many of them and I don't like how they're all crammed in a tiny window and you have to scroll up and down to browse them

it is compatible with iPhone at least.

But they aren't recognizable. Took me a whole week of usage to realize that the angry face is actually this sad-looking face.

I realise this is a longshot, but is there any way of getting rid of the emoticons key from my keyboard? I never use it, and would rather the space bar was a little bigger.
