Why do so many apps not on WP8 not support Landscape mode?

I use my phone in my car a lot mounted sideways (or landscape) and I notice that a lot of apps don't support this orientation. Is there any reason why this is?

Some apps I've noticed that don't work in landscape:

Nokia Maps (This is the most annoying because I want to use it for simple Nav and to find places in my car)
People (Contacts, Whats New, etc. Only after you select a contact it goes to Landscape... )
Music (An essential app while in the car)
    Rido (Paid music streaming app)
Home Screen (not a big deal, tiles are easy enough to read sideways)
Facebook (not a big deal as I don't use this while driving)

I'm sure there a lot more. But I really wish Landscape was more supported.

I do that too in my car because of my polarized sunglasses. I can't see my Lumia 920's screen in the portrait orientation with my sunglasses on.

The app devs and designers just need to code for it. But most of the system screens don't even work in landscape.
