    Hi, simple question,

Is it possible to run simple exe file (works on windows XP) on WP8?

No that is not possible. If you are a dev you could take the logic in the exe and then create an app to run this logic.

It would depend on what the original exe did as well.

I am not developer but is it hard to create this logic? The exe does only simple things...

I don't think creating an emulator for another device would be simple to do, even for a dev.

Windows phone is like any other OS. It runs the apps in the app store. For the average user, creating logic in visual studio to run an EXE file wont happen.

An ".exe" file is a binary executable file that runs on specific operating systems (Windows, DOS, OS/2, etc.) on specific processors (names x86/x64 cpu's).

Windows OS != Windows Phone OS.

Windows Phone OS requires a different type of executable because its applications have a very different lifecycle from desktop applications. The CPUs are also different and native binary code will not run cross CPU.
