I got a Nokia Lumia 820 on contract last year from O2 from Carphone Warehouse (UK). After having some problems registering the SIM with O2 they said it isn't registered on their network yet and to go back to carphone warehouse to see what the problem is. I went back and was told that the transaction never went through properly and was told if i wanted it to be put through. I said no so since then O2 have not been able to charge me anything as the number is and never will be registered to O2 and basically i've got a free phone because of their error.
Now what my question is, because of this will i never receive the portico update and any other updates in the future unless i flash my device to Nokia firmware? as my device is not registered on their system?
