Annoying built in Facebook chat bug

There seems to be a bug (though it may be by design) that Facebook chats don't appear on my phone if I respond using my laptop. That is, I don't see the full conversation on my phone, only those chats where I received or answered them while on the phone. Is this normal or a bug?

I have the same issue, I even uninstalled the Facebook app and I still can't get WP8 to receive Facebook messages from certain contacts.

I just wish it showed the full conversations instead of such snippets. Also can we please have the ability to upload pictures to chat? Facebook is so behind now that the twitter app is awesome

Yeah, it seems kind of backwards. Especially since if you have facebook open on your computer, yet respond to chat messages with your phone they will show up there (the whole conversation).

Of course, for about a month I didn't know why I wasn't getting any chat messages... it was because my Focus was still 'linked' to my facebook account and I had to unlink it all and do it up again...
