    I'm seeing an odd bug on my Nokia 920. It started around a month ago with the app for Kayak. I was prompted that an update was available, but failed to install it showing "attention required tap here". I've tried downloading on multiple WiFi connections and over the cell network. Each time it fails with the same error message (watching the status bar progress it completes "downloading" and fails on "installing"). This past week it happened with AlphaJax as well (prompted for an update and, gets through the download phase, that stops during the install phase). Both apps worked find, just won't update. I've had other apps update fine since then.

    For Kayak, I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it - fails during reinstall (so I can no longer run the app).

    Any ideas? I've held off on doing a reset not being sure if it is a bug with the app/update or what.

    I had issues on an app earlier last week and it finally worked out I turned the phone completely off and waited about five minutes and the n turned the phone off and tapped on the attention needed retried and it completeed. I think that it was downlaoding on 4G and not wifi at least one time. And another I was not in my office but out in the hall. The point is it finally worked.

    this usually caused by unstable wifi. Try to download with a home network. Make sure you have full access to it, so that it will not block "suspicious" connection.

    Thanks JFA1 - your suggestion worked perfectly - sometimes I forget how stable WP8 is as it had probably been a month since I had last rebooted the phone! Powered down, waited around 1 minute, reconnected to the WiFi and installed seamlessly.

    I have some problem like this also.
    I Manually Downloaded the APK file of ASPHALT 7 HEAT. (Trial) from official Market site.
    I have 3.06 GB free in Phone and 3.19 GB free in SD Card.
    Copied the APK file in SD card, Put it in L620, Rebooted it.
    Store > SD > Asphalt 7 Heat >
    Now as there is no "downloading" to be done its just Installing where after (~roughly) 25% of installing it throws an error "Attention required. Tap here".
    No matter what i do this doesnt seems to let me install it fully.
    Wifi always on, No battery Saver, Find My phone ON (but shows off in little fonts, but its on i think.)
    Anything more !?
    I planned to check out the trial version of Heat and Buy it afterwards, but this is really not cool.

    same problem,i tried soft reset a couple of times but did not help ,is there any chance that the problem is in win store,phone is lumia 820 and everything works as it should till tonight,i am installed and reinstalled without problem lots of app

    The store is acting up again. I'd suggest waiting until tomorrow to try updating.

    My wife's new Lumia-520 has had this same problem since the phone was new, but all the usual fixes seem to come to naught...

    Web browsing via Explorer is fine using both mobile or WiFi, and there is no problem with signal strength on either... we've logged in using the Microsoft account and pushed a few apps (small ones and big ones) to the phone. All appear in the list of "updates needed", all will start downloading but stop halfway, with an error "Attention required, tap here".

    You can retry until you're blue-in-the-face.. the download will always start but never finish. Trying to just enter the app store to browse, "We cannot connect you to the store at the moment"... this has been happening since the phone was new almost 3 weeks ago, everything else works fine. Web browsing, "locating" the phone from the WindowsPhone website, pushing apps to the phone. The things just will not download. Phone rebooted just now again, same thing.

    Any pointers or suggestions welcome, before we go back to our network (Orange UK)!

    Happened to me one day, i think it's an issue with the store. Tried again after few hours and it worked fine.

    Appreciate the reply... but nope, this has been ongoing for a couple of weeks and it's never worked. Are there any settings in the phone that could be missing or not configured properly? Will certainly keep trying for now...

    For the benefit of others.. it turns out this was a problem with the Windows Account login on the phone. When the device was first powered-on, we must have inadvertently put in one set of account details, then when this didn't work somewhere.. set a different one up. Phone reset, clean account from the start, and all is now well.
