Some of you may already know what I'm talking about. Some windows phones have branding on the back and others don't.

Nokia hasn't released a Lumia with the branding on it. Never.

HTC dropped the branding after the 8S/8X.

Samsung has always used the branding.

Huawei sometimes uses the branding.

Does anybody know why this is? Are the "big guys" not required to use branding (I'm talking Nokia and a tad HTC here)?

NOKIA is promoting Nokia products and WP "name" comes second, the same for any other company I guess. Actually I prefer the windows branding.

Some more on the lines of what Huawei is doing with led colored buttons, but instead of (start button) the whole button getting one color, the squares that makes up the windows logo are colored just like Microsoft's logo.

I'd love that and some chrome or charcoal colored windows branding on back.
