syncing with microsoft account

Hi, i am new here. I know that i cant disable Microsoft account, i dont use ms email and just want to know if it is syncing anything in the background which drains the battery? I ve read that i can change Server to 127.0.0.1 but will this stop Microsoft account from using battery? Thank you in advance.

I personally have not had any big battery drains in quite some time outside of some apps I am testing that are still in beta. If you turn off all the backups etc you will not be sending any data. If you do this you can possibly loose your information due to a damaged phone etc.
