Changing the default camera app

I just noticed something on my HTC 8X, there's an option in the photos + camera section to change what app opens with the camera button. Is this new in GDR2? Right now, there's no app that I can use in stead of the regular camera. Would love to use Camera360!
Has anybody else noticed this, and can any 3rd party app take use of it?

Yeah I noticed that too - cant do anything with it though - its like MS enabled it but HTC forgot to add in the option to let you select a lens from those installed

Same story here, actively searched for it but couildn't find an option to change the lens, despuite there being a drop down menu(with only the default option available).

As i know only Specific Apps from the Manufactorers can be used here not every App or Lens! On the Lumia 925 you can use Nokias Smart Camera und on the 1020 Smart Camera and Pro Camera, HTC didn't create a App for it, so you can't change the Default App.

I've been looking for a way to change my default camera app to ProShot. If anyone has any pull with MSFT give a hint to this pls.

I think GDR2 will allow us to set the camera button to launch a lens (such as ProShot) by default.
