Skype shows me offline, why?

I have a Nokia Lumia 820 but Skype has always showed me as being offline to other users after several minutes of inactivity with it. BUT, if i receive a Skype call to my Skype name, it will ring even though it shows me as offline. but the problem is that i'm being shown as offline. How can I set it so that it shows my account as being online?

Tap your "avatar" at the top right of the app and make sure you aren't set to "invisible".

Yeah, it's set to "available" all the time, not to "invisible." Thanks anyway, I don't understand what the issue is. Any other ideas anyone has?

I'm now noticing the only place where I'm apparently not showing as online is on our household's Nokia N9 phone, which we use at home as our dedicated Skype phone on a separate Skype account. So not too concerned about this -- I do show on my friends and family members Skype accounts as being online and also when I log into Skype online using the family Skype account. Wanted to update in case others come upon this thread in the future. Seems to be an issue unique to the Nokia N9.
