Latest Win OS Version

Hi. My Lumia 1020 says Win 8.0 as its version. Is that the latest Win OS released or should i update it . Am new to windows. So pls throw some light.

Am i having GDR3 update.. how can i check it.. I have installed a app called 'Rotation Lock'. but it says i need to have GDR3 update.. I though Lumia 1020 has the latest update . Am i missing anything ?

You need a developer account in order to install the GDR3 preview. Your 1020 probably has Amber/GDR2, which is the latest official release.
