Upgrade to 928, or wait?

I currently have a Nokia Lumia 822 on Verizon, and am eligible for an upgrade now. The speaker on my 822 is terrible, and I've noticed it getting slower and slower. If I upgrade to the 928 now, I won't be eligible for my wife's upgrade until February of 2015. Is it worth it to go for the 928 now? Will I be better served waiting until Christmas or beyond for a better phone? I'll likely need one that is free with 2 year upgrade, or at least no more than $50. Thoughts?

I'd wait until the new devices are launched at the end of the year. If worse comes to worse you could always pick up a 928 pretty cheaply then and not use your upgrade

I agree just wait or buy one on ebay or craigslist.

Problem is, I don't have a lot of disposable cash. It's either free with an upgrade, or tops $50. I'm guessing I couldn't find a 928 for $50. Then again, I don't want a great phone at a great price point to be released and be stuck until 2/2015.

I would get the 928 now (free at Verizon) and enjoy the heck out of it. Its a great phone

I don't think its worth the upgrade for you, the phone has similar internals and won't be a huge upgrade. With the speed things are going, you should wait it out. I'd expect Nokia phones to be at a discount to iPhones and Galaxies for the foreseeable future on contract with the carriers. Also, if you start saving even small amounts now you can get a good phone in a few months.

6 months from now you can probably get a Lumia 928 in very good condition on Swappa for $150 or so
