Apps requiring Access to unrelated stuff

We know that Android is awash with data mining apps that want complete access to everything, but is WP better? What is your experience with apps requiring access to stuff they have no business accessing?

In my opinion it is a bit troubling when even Microsoft has games and apps that want access to seemingly unnecessary things like Music Library or Phone Dialer.

WP is definitely much better. but i do accept that, in WP also, sometimes this kind of access is taken.
anyway, point of worry is not that they ask for access, but the main question is if we dont give access, these apps cannot be installed. there must be an option to select the permissions or install apps without access.
