My Lumia 720 fell in a bucket of water and is dead, the guy in the Nokia Care said that it is repairable but I am not comfortable with the cost of repairs.
I used to store all kind of information in my Lumia, Financial, Personal etc.
So I want to know if the info / data in the phone is encrypted or somehow protected ?
as i am considering to sell the phone for parts
will the buyer be able to retreive the info or data (if at all) easily?

I doubt you'll get much as parts if it's water damage. Personally I'd keep it and hang it up as a reminder of how not to treat its replacement.

If the Lumia is dead, its likely won't be accessible at all unless you happen to have some secret intelligence techs with unlimited budgets and knowledge on your tail. If you're worried, render the memory chips physically unusable.

Water damage isn't a predictable science, so i don't know if you can get much for parts.
