[L520] Showing gears after reset?

Can anybody help me with my query that while resetting or formatting my nokia lumia 520 my phone has started showing gears from last 4 hours& it is not switching on. what should I do?
& plz explain how to reset it & switch it on?

4 hours is a little too lot for a factory reset. Do you have a microSD installed in the phone?
