bringing this back from the dead, because the current geocaching app needs some love and I want to know if there are any other options.

    Thanks in advance

Well, I don't have and answer, but I too want a better geocaching app. I'm even tempted to purchase the official app but I know the first part apps from them are at times not the best.

Let's you enter in a destination loc and gives you a bearing and distance to target. Very simple app and free.

I like the current Official app but I'll admit its very flawed especially for the price... But luckily im not gonna tell you to buy it, because the set out an e-mail out to current users and updated their app to say they've submitted a new app and are dropping support of their one and even better its gonna be free with bonus abilities for subscribers... It'll be called Geocaching Live I believe...

I am a quite pleased user of maaloo geocaching for some time now:
maaloo Geocaching | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (United States)

The app works fine due to:
    - integrated bearing
    - offline maps for custom map areas in custom zoom levels
    - fast and accurate
    - logging possible
    - custom waypoints
    - dropbox connection and query-import

    some cons:
    - currently not all cachetypes supported (trad/myst/multy/earth included)
    - handling could be improved, but lots of updates

Now maaloo geocaching shows all cachetypes and feels pretty nice compared to the official geocaching live app.

Best part of course: offline maps :)

    Updates for version 2.0:
    Here-Maps from phone storage :)
Anybody here using her/his phone for other things than whatsapp / twitter / Facebook and porn on toilets?
    Go geocaching ;)
