Will be fixed in the next update, which I've just submitted to Microsoft :) Here's the changelog:

v2.8.2
+ added more timer options and 1/16000 shutter speed
+ minor performance improvements on high-resolution devices
+ added diagonal and golden ratio grid line options
+ now retains MF position when switching between AF and MF
+ various bug fixes

As always, stay tuned, awesome stuff is on the way!

Still having the manual focus jumping back to 50 issue when relaunch the app...

Whaa that's awesome, great idea! I want to see more :)
Also, good reminder, I need to do more about saving power when doing extended timelapses.

Do you think there would be any way to implement dark frame subtraction for long exposures?

I know its use would be a bit specialised and that something would need to be placed over the lens, but I just thought of it when I saw the star trails shot :).

Also, I see that it's possible to set focus regions in WP8 apps. Would it be possible to add AF points like on SLR cameras? Perhaps even zoom in on them for the MFassist too?

Quick question: Is this post or pre-GDR2/Amber? I'm afraid that if I try this out on my pre-GDR2 Lumia 920, I'll run into that MSFT bug (memory leak I think?) which will result in me having to restart ProShot. :(
And I believe this bug has been fixed in GDR2.

pre GDR2! no problem at all!!!

I keep a list of all of the specialized functions people request, and I hope to add them all into ProShot at some point :)

I'm still trying to figure out a "better" way to handle point focus / focus regions than what's out there, so something along those lines should come sooner or later hah

HDR will be coming, but Nokia's Imaging SDK and GDR2 don't offer any special functions to help add HDR. Gonna have to write my own :)

@RiseUpGames I have Lumia 920 and whenever I am using proshot, my phone gets really hot. I wanted to know that is it normal that app uses that much processing.

If you are using the Level Gauge then yes, it will get hot. That is an unavoidable issue with certain aspects of the Windows Phone API involving camera output and accelerometer usage.

Just from what I've read around the forums, it seems like the 920 gets hot pretty easily from a variety of apps. I've done a lot of work to make sure ProShot consumes as little power as possible. Under normal use it may make the device warm, but it shouldn't get unbearably hot.

Any reason the shutter speed stays at 1/16000 all the time? I gotta change it to Auto every time I launch the app I think.

I would like to report a bug. if your ISO is set 100/200/400/800 then you adjust the shutter speed, the exposure slider gets disabled. it also affect the Program option once this happens. To temporary enabled the exposure slider, you must set your ISO to auto. But if you use manual ISO, it will be disabled again.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am using Level Gauge.

521 User Here, sometimes if leave proshot open too long, it will freeze up my phone (no error message at all), and I have to do a battery pull in order to unfreeze my phone. Wondering in any other 52X users or other users have had the same problem when using proshot ?

1. I believe the EV slider is meant to be disabled if you're manually setting the shutter speed and ISO.
2. Yes, I agree with you that when I go to P mode from M mode (after having set both shutter speed and ISO manually), the EV slider still stays disabled. I believe it should not. It should be enabled.
3. Question for the dev: When I launch ProShot app, it usually opens in M mode, because that is what I use most often. Also, the ISO at start-up is usually 100 because that is what I use most often. The shutter speed is whatever it was when I used the app previously I guess. Under these conditions, the EV slider is enabled, and I can slide it to the left or right, causing changes in brightness in the viewfinder. This should not be the case, no? (However, the photos come out the same with any EV setting, which is expected because the shutter speed and ISO are fixed). Also, when I change the ISO to, say, 200 the EV slider gets disabled, and is enabled only when ISO is set to Auto. This, I believe, is expected behavior. So my question is: when I launch the app in M mode with a non-auto ISO value, why isn't the EV slider disabled right away?

Sorry about that! Instead of saying "Auto" it says 1/16000. That will be fixed in the next version

The exposure slider gets disabled because it will have no effect on the final image if the shutter speed and ISO are manually set (since these cameras don't have adjustable apertures)

Thanks for catching those bugs! I'll fix em asap
