Photoplay photo sharing app- beautiful design

Has anyone seen Photoplay? It's version 1.0 with the latest update being today, so it may be brand new. Right now I think I'm the only English speaking user, the other accounts I see are Russian or something (one of the services it shares to is the russian VK social network). It also shares to Twitter and Facebook.

The app has beautiful design, it is by far the best looking photo editing/sharing app available now.

I wish I had an email for the developer, I'm interested in what updates are upcoming. If this app could show your instagram feed and allow you to like and comment (I understand that instagram blocks uploads), it would be the best app on the market. It's still great, but it can't replace everything until it can do that.

Its a 4.5/5 stars for me, great app. If you get it, please rate. I feel bad for photo apps because tons of idiots rate them 1-star because they can't upload to instagram, and that is not the developers fault.

jhguth, thanks for your review. We're impressed with such a positive feedback!

Priority is to do some stability improvements and "push notifications" first. Then we'd focus on bringing some new exciting features. Instagram integration is considered as highly interesting and may come with further update.

The features I'd really like to see are:

1. Inclusion of Instagram/Twitter/Flickr photo feeds
2. Ability to like or comment Instagram
3. Additional upload to service options
4. Additional filters
5. Live Tile

It's still great without those things, but those would make it the best photo app available for WP8 without question

I have to admit, until today i didnt realize this launched on all three platforms to be a complete competitor to instagram. I like it, some of my facebook friends are already joining.

I hope the new filters come soon.

We should support Photo Play.

This evening the app. that got released is beautiful.I just wish people stop whining, If someone is trying to make a change, support them. At least give the application a try. It has been released on all the platforms. Who knows people might just get bored of instagram and migrate to this application. If such attitudes are kept up the devs might just think the WP community is going to nip every effort of their's, so why bother to create applications. Also there have been comments on how it has 'porn' like russian girls and blah blah. I am sorry, but Instagram has its own share naked photographs. This is to prove it.

Lets face it, no one knows for sure what would be the fate of instagram. If it's going to come or not, but that does not mean we have to sit and keep complaining about it for long. This application does the same. You may be worried about the fact that your friends are not on the application, well you could create a buzz by simply sharing the photographs through the app onto your social networking sites just like instagram. It is bound to get some amount of traffic.

im glad priority is going into live tiles and push notifications. Live tiles are a key part that sets this os apart yet its underutilized. Well done

what's the point of creating something to compete with Instagram if you gonna add their photo feeds to the app?

and about the live tiles i'd say flip or cycle! flip could show like latest pic/comment or cycle could go thru latest images...maybe give user option if they want pics from friends or top?

I like the Cycle the most since it takes the viewer time to appreciate the photos. Can Flip and Icon be combined? That would be really great; the front would be the icon of your app and the back, some random photo posted.

ETA: I'm not a fan of the black dot with the number which is standard on a lot of apps like Fb and Twitter. I think it's quite boring and seems a bit out of place unless you have a black and white color scheme. MS should have made it a square with a number instead to match the whole metro interface

Please tell me I'm wrong about this app. I took a pic last night and was amazed at what PhotoPlay could do with it. But was instantly turned off when I couldn't save said photo to my phone. I could only upload it. Shy of opening up my browser to visit the site and downloading the optimized photo, there's no way to keep a local copy.

I would love to see this app replace Instagram. But I don't want it to replace me.

If by save photos they mean other users can tap and save your photos - I will be the first one to delete the app. I removed EyeEm and Fhotoroom for the exact same reason. I like their idea of re-post where someone can sort of share your photo further and was even going to suggest that they consider acknowledging the origin of that repost and those likes/comments be available to original poster. That makes credibility of someone's work appreciated. As soon as people are allowed to save someone else's photos, it's as good as stealing (obviously you agree to T&Cs etc).

If the devs are on this board and do come across this thread again, it would be nice to know what their plans are. I am 100% behind this app solely because the photos are shared not saved. Also, want to know how the repost really works!

I'm hoping its more along the lines of what is keeping me away from the app... Being able to save your own picture after modifications. Without that ability the app has become useless to me, as amazing as it may be.
