Native calendar - need clarification

Hi all

New here and new to Windows Phone (from IOS). Have Nokia 925.

I've tried to research the answer to my question but without being able to be certain of all my options - so I'll ask here.

Is there really NO WAY to sync sub-calendars (i.e. not my main account calendar, but calendars I have created - 'Kid's Sport', 'Holidays', etc) from my live.com online calendar to the Windows Phone calendar? This just seems like such poor functioning.

If this is the case, what are my best options? I want to be able to see the different calendar events on my phone (and receive notifications/have an updating live tile). Does Google Calendar sync better? Or is it that I need a different calendar app on the phone? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yes you can. If you already have created those calendars and your phone has that email signed in, you should see it in your calendar app. Under settings, it will be listed.

If you've already done that, try syncing the acct in phone settings.
