Temple Run low frame rate on Lumia 920. Works Excellent on Lumia 820. Why?

I own a Lumia 920 and my wife own Lumia 820. We both play temple run a lot. But one thing that keeps boggling me is that Temple Run is buttery smooth on Lumia 820. However, the frame rate are pretty low on Lumia 920. Why is it so? One reason could be that on 820 it runs at 480*800 resolutions but on 920 it runs on 768*1280 resolutions. What do you guys think? Do you also face similar issues?

This issue has been killing me and I often think that if games run better on Lumia 820 then why is Lumia 920 Nokia's flagship?

Games will run better on the 820 for the exact reason you stated. They have the same internals, but the 920 has to display more pixels. Of course, there's the off-chance that your phone is slightly defective. I should note that Temple Run, from a pure graphical perspective, should not lag on the 920. Imangi seems to have done the world's worst job at porting its old game.

The 920 is still the flagship with far more features than the 820, one of those being a high-density display. Microsoft restricts what chipsets can be used, so Nokia couldn't use a better processor. Also remember that the 820 has not been a sales success, and I believe that's because it's this not-quite-flagship that's still relatively expensive. A 720 with 1GB of RAM and Drive+ probably would have fared better on the market.

That's exact same reason why i got 820.well , some people may call me crazy but by next windows update , 820 would perform better because HD apps need more RAM , so multitasking or graphics are better in 820 than 920 cuz both have same SoC.

You all are so correct... the only thing which seems better in 920 is Pureview Camera. 820 beats 920 in terms of performance and also the screen quality because it carries AMOLED screen. Games like Temple Run should work smoothly on 920 and if that is not the case then 820 is a much better phone.

Well 920 has HD LCD screen

Some people hate AMOLED because colors look over saturated.

820 screen is sharp for daily use but not as sharp as 920 or other flagships.Being iPad 3 (retina display) user , i find no fault in 820 display

If u can bear bear screen , 820 is much better but again only 8 GB storage , cant install more than 3-4 big games like asphalt , dark knight etc.

That's where 32 GB of 920 is advantage because in sd slot u cant install apps.

If u don't play big games but just use phone a lot and small apps , 820 works better especially when u have lot of media.

I use 64 GB external card which has so many songa , videos , movies , photos.
