Ppl also forget that Xbox hardware probably isn't fully optimized, so what w7 PC has 8cores? I think, "of course that could have happened". Nothing on the market is in next Gen hardware.

So it makes sense to use an os that has been optimized to death than "w8" who is clearly still getting kinks out.

Why is anyone supprised?

Your average AAA game takes 18m-2y to develop, so the PCs will be the exact dev kits Microsoft gave out, and at the time, W8 wasn't even released, do you give devs an unfinished OS, or a tried and tested one?

That explains giving them Windows 7 PCs during early development. That doesn't explain using Windows 7 over Windows 8 at E3, when Windows 8 has been out for some time. If Windows 8 has some flaws that still need worked out, OK.

Maybe it's simply that setting it all up on Windows 7 is a little easier, or getting a Windows 7 PC to handle the job was cheaper than getting a Windows 8 PC to do the job.

To point out that "dev kit" thing again, though, these obviously aren't those. It said that this PC had a GTX 700 series GPU inside. Those weren't released until this year, so it's pretty obvious that this demo PC wasn't some leftover dev kit or something.

AMD FX processors have 8 cores. I'm not sure I understand the "what w7 PC has 8cores?" question is asking. Plenty of them have 8 cores, if someone put an 8-core FX processor in them, but they're viewed as inferior CPUs to even previous-generation Intel quad-core devices, unless a highly-threaded process is being done.

95% of the games at e3 are on pc's. Crytek confirmed ryse was on their dev kit which is a PC . This story is blowing up because a picture of one of the gaming pc's was running on an NVIDIA gpu its called lococycle . Johnathan blow and the developer of said game got I to an argument over this. The developer stated it was his decision to run this rig not Ms or anyone at xbxo. This is a non story and just neogaf trying to make more bad press for Ms.

Xbox One Games At E3 Were Running On Windows 7 With Nvidia GTX Cards

Now , We know that Xbox One controller can be hooked to PCs

EDIT : There is a reason why people didn't like XB1 but now they have one more reason to hate it.Some are doubting why MS used Windows 7 , when they have W8 stating that "MS doesn't have confidence in W8"

for people like you who cant wait to troll more about every single thing related to xbox one, yeah... one more reason to hate.

you forget the article even says "Also...poor, poor Windows 8; even Microsoft doesn't like you." wow... nice site to get that "news" from.
also it was just lococycle (just a xbla game, which doesn't even look that nextgen) booth thing at E3, how do you know if it was or not the only game running in this kind of setup?. but yeah you dont know that, because probably it was just lococycle the only game using this kind of setup, and that's why it crashed and we didn't hear any other report of another game crashing and going to win7 desktop.

If u watched keynote , they said xbox one is using "Windows" kernel and showed Windows 8 Logo.

That W8 was meant to be a funny joke like how people say "rectangular shaped device gets sued by Apple" or people who say "ms sold more xbox 360s because everytime 360 got RROD , fanboys would purchase another one" , If you take these things seriously , they become quite serious and if you consider them funny , they are quite funny.

I never know why people would take it so seriously.

Thank you for both of these explanations, because this is not stated in the article (which was clearly just looking for a chance to boo anything Microsoft's done in its existence). If what joeynox says is true, and it's a developer's decision to use that PC, then it might be the PC owned by that dev. It might also mean that a) the developer prefers NVIDIA's stuff in his PCs (to explain why an AMD GPU isn't present), and b) he might have found out about the chosen GPU because the developer told him, rather than the four possibilities I mentioned before. It also might be a simple explanation about the use of Windows 7 over 8 because it was an older development machine where the dev upgraded the GPU, but not the OS, or the developer simply prefers not going through the Start screen to get to whatever he uses to run his game, or he just doesn't like Windows 8.

If u watched keynote , they said xbox one is using "Windows" kernel and showed Windows 8 Logo.

sigh...
they showed the windows "8" logo. because its the NEW windows logo. just like they changed the windows phone logo to be the same, it doesn't mean its windows 8 or not. its just the new logo that represents WINDOWS. do you think windows 9 is going to have a different logo? not really.

also lococycle is WIP, do you think only because windows 8 was released and they are subsidiary of Microsoft studios, they would automatically upgrade in the MIDDLE of the project? its a professional studio we are talking about, and honestly not professional known studio would do that ever, they wouldn't even upgrade the software (which would be "less" complicated) because that would be irresponsible for the project which has a deadline.

Edit. also the Xbox games don't even run on windows, they run on Xbox OS which is a big difference. that's why Microsoft said xbox one has 3 OS.
and some people from that article seem to forget, but this lococycle demo wasn't about xbox one, so all they wanted to show was how it looks, how it is played, what's new, etc etc. so it didn't matter where it ran, the purpose was to show only the game. and just like joenox said (thanks for your comment) developer had all the power to show the game however they wanted to the world at E3. they chose this way, it doesn't mean anything else, like not windows 8 confidence crap, or games wont run as shown in E3 keynote.
