The other day I found a website allowing me to watch 2013 Wimbledon without being blocked because of US IP. I went on xbox and opened IE. Got a message telling me that I am
not a gold a gold member so that I cannot use IE. Why do I have to pay $100+ membership to use IE on xbox. This morning,

I accidentally found chromecast. This is something I have been looking for years and it is only $35. I am not trying to promote it.
Microsoft and Google have different approaches.

First of all, Gold is only $60 (cheaper if you know where to look). Second, that $60 gets you A LOT more than just web browsing through IE. If you don't have a need for all of the other advantages of Gold, then obviously it's not worth it to spend $60 to browse the web, but if you do use the other features, being able to use IE is a nice bonus.
