  • 1. In Windows Store, the Camera app shows the DNG feature and says Lumia 830, 930, Icon, 1520, 640, 640XL, 950 and 950XL.

  • 2. 640XL has a registry value DNGDisabled, it can be altered by a registry editor and it works (it's a hack, so I'm not responsible for any damage) according to some users from the topic. Search for Save lossless raw image format (DNG) on 640XL Windows Central in Google.
  • 3. The FAQ page "What is the DNG format in Lumia Camera in my Lumia?" says that the topic is valed for Nokia Lumia Icon,Nokia Lumia 1520,Nokia Lumia 830,Microsoft Lumia 640.

Lumia 1520 originally didn't have the DNG functionality, which was enabled after Amber update. I tried the latest Windows 10 build in 640XL (10586.107), but no DNG option was present, so I guess a firmware update could unlock this?

What do you think? Sorry my english.

@Daniel
Yes! Thanks for the Store link. I updated the topic.

P.S.: Sorry, I can't quote your reply.

How is the speed of the camera affected by this registry hack?
no speed delays on mine. Neither on opening nor on saving.

moth, if the key is not there you create it. If you need the details, let me know but you can find them in my instructions here. I'm on build 10586.107 and it is still working great.

Also, another member tried this on a 640 and even with all the keys that we know from the 640XL in place DNG is not working. There are other registry keys in other places that are possibly missing or it simply cannot save DNGs, even though MS page says so.
both 640 and 640XL have been listed as DNG capable from the very beginning, nothing new really.
