Panasonic has announced a new Android KitKat smartphone with a 1 inch 20MP sensor. This is currently the largest sensor used in a smartphone, even larger than Lumia 1020's 1/1.5 inch sensor. The sensor is probably the same used in Sony RX100M3 and Panasonic FZ1000 high end digital fixed lens cameras.

Even though Panasonic is not really known outside Japan for its smartphones, it's digital cameras are much more well known around the world. Although this new camera phone runs on Android, it would be interesting to see how it fares photography-wise.
