Interference - the drawing and describing game

It's simple: we start with a description, then let a chain of players take turns to draw and describe - but each player can only see the previous step in the game. It won't take long for the original message to get lost in translation and turn into something completely different (and hilarious!).

Are you ready for a breakdown in communication? Join the game that was shortlisted for Best Social/Casual Game, Most Original Game and Game of the Year at the 2016 TIGA Awards!

Updated for Windows 10 with new features

We've come a long way since being one of the first apps in the Windows 8 store (we still have our MS UK "First to Store" certificate on the wall!), and if you've not played in a while then there are loads of new features, such as:

    • UWP app - play on desktop or mobile (it even works with continuum on supported phones)
    • Better drawing experience - a new drawing tool, larger canvas, and more colours
    • Improved community features - better in-app forums, contests (like picture of the week, chosen by the dev team every Saturday), and a new set of awards to collect
    • Drawing replays - learn from the best artists by replaying the most popular drawings, and watch how they were done

    All abilities welcome!

Don't think you're any good at drawing? That's OK - we can't draw very well and we made the game! We've got players of all abilities, and you might find that it unleashes your inner artist. Grab your pen, mouse or even your finger and get drawing!

The game is still free, with an optional purchase to remove ads and get some extra features (including: view replays of any drawing (not just the popular ones), more detailed statistics on player profiles, invite specific players to join games with you).

    Hi everyone,

There's a new update for Interference on Windows 10 which adds a brand new home screen, showing you all the cool stuff that's happening in the game, like picture (and description) of the week, popular items, the latest news, and video updates from the developers. We've also released a MASSIVE update for the Windows 8 version of the app - the update adds in all of the features from the Windows 10 version of the game, like the new drawing tool, game invites, item replays and more!

To celebrate, you can win an Interference t-shirt in a free competition - winners can choose one of the cool Interference logo shirts, or pick their favourite drawing from the game to wear on a shirt. If you're playing the game, then it could even be your own artwork! You can find a link to the competition on the home screen of the new app - make sure you've entered by 12th May 2017.

We'd love to hear any feedback you have, or suggestions for new features - let us know in this thread, or post a message in the Interference forums!

    Hi everyone,

We've been a little quiet recently (hard at work!), but we've just released another update for Interference on Windows 8, Windows 10 and Windows 10 mobile. Here's what's new:

    Win8 (v3.9.0) / Win10 (v3.9.10)

    • Colours/pens always visible: Let's start with the big one! By popular demand colours and pens are now always displayed when drawing - no more popup menus! If you're on a desktop/tablet then everything's laid out at the bottom of the screen. If you're playing on phone then there's a set of buttons to toggle between colours and pens at the bottom of the screen (there wasn't room to fit both on the screen at once).
    • Redo button: There's now a redo button, in case you press undo too many times. Basically, it undoes your last undo.
    • Notifications: Usernames in notifications are now highlighted properly to make them easier to see
    • Discord: Supporters have access to the private Interference Discord server where you can chat with Team IFX and other players - we've added a button to the home screen of the app to make it easier to access.
    • Home screen improvements: The messages at the top of the home screen now move when you scroll the page, so you can see more drawings.
    • On this day: We've added a new icon for "On This Day / Flashback" items on the home screen - they'll show you one of your past drawings so that you can see how much your skills have improved
    • Bugfixes: Several bugs are now fixed, including an issue that would prevent you from posting to the forums when you first signed in.

Here's an example of the new drawing tool in action:

If you've not played the game before then it's free to get involved (you can support us with an optional in-app purchase to unlock replays of drawings and some other cool features) and players of all abilities are welcome (we have some awesome artists, and also some players like me who can't really draw - see the drawing above for an example!).

We'd love to hear what you think - either let us know in this thread, or send us a message through the game!
