7.5 content filter for surfing

Hello, I normally use content filters on my pc. It is very important to me. Anyway I have been searching for the last week for content filter apps that I can install on my HTC 7 Pro WP 7.5 Phone. Nothing is available.

I have been searching for other possible methods like for example disabling IE or surfing completely, but I can't seem to do that either.

I need to not be able to access pornographic material on my phone. I am about to make the decision to sell the phone, it would be a shame because I really like it.

What would you suggest?

Ps: I would like to complain about one other thing. How come, content filters are available in EVERY other platform except for windows phone. I understand they want to be secure and not accept apps from outside of the marketplace, but how about giving the users some control?

No apps indeed

Well, you did not find any such content-blocking apps because WP7 in its current version does not allow any apps to filter web traffic in any way.

Do other smartphone OS really offer such apps? Do you have some examples, some links?

I checked whether there could be a server-based solution, a HTTP proxy server that filters content before it even reaches your phone, but I did not find any. There are tons of HTTP proxy servers, but they all seem to work the other way round - they are used to circumvent site or content filters that are active e.g. at schools blocking Facebook (or porn, of course).

Furthermore, for browsing over cellular it seems not possible anyway to specify a proxy for WP7, only for Wifi-based browsing...

Thank you for your answer. Yeah there are some dns based filters but not proxies. And you are right about wifi surfing.
With regard to other smartphones, there are third party apps that you can use in them.
for example, phonesheriff.com, not to advertise but, offers mobile surf filtering for all platforms except for windows phone 7 and above. There are many others. Apple also has some built in filters that you can use like turning off safari.
I guess I will need to accept that my windows phone cannot be filtered.

Also how much does a 7 month old HTC 7 Pro go for? It works like new and has a few scratches.

I am selling it for 130? in German E bay.

Any suggestions?
