I am purchasing a new windows phone for my mom and would like to know how to transfer her whatsapp history. Does Windows 8.1 backup the whatsapp messages? Her phone has Windows 8 but I guess I can update do the backup.

The faq does not provide any information on how to move data from one to device to the other. I can do this on Android phones. I was hoping that the community had a work around but I guess not.

This is good sign as it will raise awareness of this issue and Whatsapp team should take that into account.. Let's hope thisgives some haste to them.

For some reason my whatsapp isnt working .Tried reinstalling whatsapp but in vain .And now while verification it says whatsapp servers are busy try after sometimes .Whats wrong with whatsapp any idea folks.Is is due to the latest WP8.1 update that this may be happening

whatsapp not working from past 2 hours. i have a working 3g net and even have wifi at home. i am able to browse on IE even updated my apps. but only whatsapp isn't working. anyone else facing this issue?

Yes it down i thought its an issue with my phone.Sadly its working on my android phone but not on my lumia

Before updating the app they should first update their slow development team.

Will everyone please calm down. Whatsapp is generally down, and it is not specific to a country, OS, phone model or carrier. For some people its working, for some its not. Just relax, it will work on your phone sooner rather than later.
