If you just want battery percent on a live tile then never mind, but if you want a battery app that's actually useful then look here. I've been a connoisseur of battery apps since my Android days, and I've always tried to use them to actual effect, by correlating my battery usage over a given period with other factors in the environment, hopefully with an eye toward conservation. (Turned out to be mostly "don't run the GPS receiver, don't run the wireless transmitter, don't use the display" ;)

Finally after all those hours of squinting at usage graphs to get the slope over a period, came enlightenment. The truly useful metric for battery management is not percent, but rate. If I could only have a graph over time of rate of change of available %, I could easily understand the impact of specific programs or activities on my battery life.

Now, my battery app of choice is Battery Sense. It has all the usual features like live tile, lockscreen, and graph, plus the best stats, I thought. So I wrote to the dev and tried to make my case for graphical rate with history, expecting in reply a polite offer to put me on the wish-list. Imagine my delight when the next update not only added rate to the graph, but improved the interaction so that it can be both scrolled and zoomed.

This is truly a useful battery app, and at present I believe the only one of its kind in the Market.

Battery Sense is ridiculously awesome, and the last update to it really make it even better! I've been using this app for the last 88 charges to my phone and it's provided some very useful stats for me (and I like how now it sends a toast if it detects excessive battery drain). The app has tracked my battery from amazing to crappy... right now the battery rate is atrocious but oh well, not much I can do about that.

Just installed this. Awesome! Love the dynamic tile colors and audio status reading. And I feel stupid for manually calculating %/hour all this time.

Hey op, just curious, what's your favorite Android battery app?

Battery Sense is pretty sweet, but I also like some of the features on Battery Widget as well. The latter has a great chart that shows usage rate for each day of the week; but there's also a few other views including by Wifi vs LTE or 3G. I also like seeing usage in a column chart rather than a line chart. Still going back and forth between these two.

At this time I think the most innovative battery app in the store is Battery Pro+ by Fixinis All the usual features, beautiful graphics, and some advanced analysis tools you won't find anywhere else.
