skype acros multipule devices

Hi all,
New to this forum with a question..
I currently own windows 8, surface RT, WP8 (Lumia 820) and a win 7 laptop. I use Skype across all these devices.
Problem: if someone calls me whilst away from my pc without my surface on it shouldn't it ring my phone. Should Skype not ring across all devices and show all messages that are sent and received?

I'm not sure about your windows 7

From my small experience, when I use Skype on iPad and my WP 8 device, I get rings on both and messages on both, same as with my brothers surface Rt.

Its more the phone that's the problem than other devices. The phone doesnt ring

My dad called me on Skype some days back, I was on my computer (Win 8) with my phone (lumia 920) in my pocket and Surface RT next to my computer. All three started ringing
