It seems de rigueur that whenever a store comes out with an app; whenever a cool app comes out, it's always for Android and I-Phone- hardly ever for Windows Phone.

With Windows Phone being at best an after-thought or even a non-starter for many app developers, does the Windows Phone platform stand a chance?

Hell--even the MLB "At Bat" dropped the Windows platform this year.

I regularly contact stores, etc and request apps be developed for Windows Phone, and am nearly universally ignored.

Do you think the Windows Phone platform will survive?

(Yes, I think that the WP platform is a diamond in the rough, and is superior to other platforms, but it appears that no-one else gives it but a passing glance.

Seeing how this is a product own and developed by Microsoft and how important it is for them to continue and gain market share. Yes.

They will throw cash at it if it needs to like the first XBox

Yes.

Two reasons: The Windows Phone share of the market is growing faster than any other, we have momentum. The other reason is that Microsoft are growing their own talented community of developers who are eager to fill in any holes other developers leave open.
