Uhmm dude, even the Facebook app has been put on the Store by Microsoft, however both Facebook and Microsoft worked on it.

For all intents and purposes the YouTube app seen on the Windows Phone Store before was "official" and could you please show me where Google has said that they aren't planning to bring Google services to Windows, Windows RT and Windows Phone, they have Google Chrome one of the best browsers on Windows 8.

When I said windows, I meant modern apps that are published through Windows Store. And here is a link:

About that whole scenario, you can read these articles by wpcentral. That doesn't mean Microsoft was not at fault but google always played by the balls when it came to providing assistance to provide services on Windows platform. Here are the articles:

I've shared above articles in a chronological manner. You can form your own opinions from it.

You can auto download images in 8.1. Check your email settings.

Thanks for the information and it puzzles me why Google isn't playing nice with Windows Phone, even when Microsoft has tried. This is depressing. :/

No, Google's main goal is provide the best possible services on their own platform, with iOS being a close second but just as Google has had conflicts with Microsoft, it has also had conflicts with Apple:

If you know to manually install a .xap, you can get the official YouTube app back:

Get the YouTube app that was pulled by Google | Windows Phone Central

I tried to install MS Youtube (xap) manually, it did not allow it (no way to do it without MS approval for that app) - well, we have MyTube, so it does not really matter ... but yeah, Google won that case :p

We have a webkit browser, Nokia Xpress, so if there is a page that IE does not render properly, then just use it ...

My pleasure.
And they are business competitors after all. If situations were reversed, MS would have done the same thing.

For windows phone users, I can only hope that windows phone achieve enough market share to catch google's attention.

And overall, it is good that there is competition between two or how will they have improved?

Don't use the official XAP deployer, there are other XAP deploying softwares that don't need any approval from Microsoft, you can even use them to pirate games(I wouldn't recommend it though).

Last I checked Windows Phone did not have support for Webkit based browsers and this is why the CEO of Kik said that they abandoned the Windows Phone app.

Nokia Xpress is not a Webkit based browser to the best of my knowledge, and I wouldn't recommend it for day to day use as it is a very barebones browser designed for only data saving(not to provide the best user experience).

No seriously I thank you a lot for the information. I can understand why Google doesn't port over their other services, but they have no excuse for not porting over YouTube primarily because Microsoft is willing to do all the work.

This is a very bad move on Google's part and I hope they come to their senses soon.

It uses the Gecko rendering engine ... but just try it for webkit pages :) ... yeah, it is like Opera Mini to be clear :)

Whatsapp : lacks a true backup function for phones without sd card; also power consumption is bad
instagram BETA: good performance, but power consumption is bad ( I suppose because of constant use of location service )
Messenger app: bad power consumption.
Skype: slow slow slow

Given that the latest 8.1U1 browser enables a large webkit compatibility I wonder if Kik will get back in the game. Not that I personally care, but when you complain about something and then that changes...

Crunchyroll, Kik, Live Lock Screen, bring back Glance Background and update, Xbox Music (live tile not showing artist images for me), Nokia Camera Beta, and I'd like to see an update for UC Browser using IE 11.

Edit: Oh and Blue Skies, it's my favorite weather app.

I want an app similar to Google Sketchup or Autocad. I'm not sure how they can make one, but a programming app like Visual Basic or C++ would be nice to have too. Also, I want MS to update Office. Make it look like the ones in desktops. Or at least allow more settings. The current settings are too few. It's more like Notepad rather than MS Word.

I have contacted the company customer service for all of these a few months ago was given the OkeyDokey by a couple but the other seemed responsive.
