I bought a Microsoft Lumia 640 after using Android devices for many years. First of all, I'm pretty happy with it. Nice size, ok fast. But browsing sucks. IE feels outdated. I cannot even open a Bing search link in a new background tab (am I doing something wrong?). What other browsers do you guys recommend?

Also is there one good Gmail-app?

Well IE is still the best one out there in my opinion. Besides the others are still build on IE's engine so there wont be much difference. Offcourse some others like maxthon offer some diffrent functionality but IE works just fine for me.

No I think IE has a number of faults. The worst is that you cannot open search result links in background tabs. Search results is in black on white, the text is to big. Handling of favorites are very bad, just a list. When I open a new tab I just get a white page. No tiles of most common sites or favorites. Aren't there any other better ones or must I try em all?

UC Browser is the answer to all your browser related concerns on WP. I recommend Maestro as an alternative to Gmail. :)
