Images downsampled

Is the IG downsampling our images before upload. I have a L650 which has a decent camera on it but the pictures I upload to IG never look as good as the ones in my camera roll. Is this some sort of punishment for not using an iPhone to create IG content?

Have you tried using 6tag? It works well for uploading photos and the quality always seems better
