Dan, it would be great to get your read on this.

This (the article in link below) seems a important and interesting advance of technology in Microsoft’s wheelhouse of expertise: Big data.

It's seems mostly research now, but Microsoft has partnered with, among others, a substantial health care provider and research hospital(s) in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, or something like that. (Perhaps surprisingly, Pittsburgh is a bit of a tech center due Carnegie-Mellon and U of P).

And it works with Google Fit (on phones) and Google Wear (fitness bands), as well as Band 2, so they are yielding to other fitness devices, and wisely so: Microsoft is so-so at (some) consumer stuff, but I'm not naming which ones, it's a privileged class.

    Worth a read me thinks….

This looks like it could be interesting. Thanks for sharing the article. Sadly though, it will never be available where I am. It would also be nice if Fitbit devices could work with it too.

I love my Band 2, and understand why Microsoft dropped out of updates. I have my eye on one of the Garmin products, maybe the X40.
