What is the best backup strategy for 4Q19?
Back in Feb 2019 Cale Hunt did a story on the "6 Best Ways to Backup Your PC". With all the new products and price drops in H/W especially SSD's it might be a good time to update a backup strategy for files and even Windows 10. As well what combinations might be the best? I know I could use some help in this area.
A lot of cards and external devices have the capacity, but are they 1) Reliable, 2) Durable over the long run?
- Micro and Regular SD Cards?
- USB Flash Drives?
- HDD's? Are these still a good option for 4Q19?
- SSD's
- Home built NAS
- Online Backup Service
And what is a good combination of these for backups
- 1) HDD, 2) SSD
or
- 1) Micro SD, 2) SSD
or
- 1) SSD, 2) USB
Again looking at Forum and blog comments it looks like Reliability and Durability are the biggest issues. Online is good for major and long term backup but having local file availability at your finger tips is always good.
