im using an l920 and its great. 1gb ram 32gb memory battery is great 4.5 display and the camera is great as well. and i think it is in your price range. i got it for about 200$ from ebay.

And the apps problem, android has 1000000000000 apps but they have 10-15 facebook apps 10-15 whats-app apps and so on. what u need, u have on wp store i guarantee it.

ps. i didnt have a nice time with any of android handsets wich i got in my hands.

Try 820. I think it has 1gb ram and it's around 20k. Will be a better option than 720 and 525.

    I recommend the NL 925.
But if you want some of the newest models follow this link. Pick the one you like and shop around for a good deal.

Android kitkat removed the apps to sd feature. Windows Phone has this feature in 8.1. So you have practically unlimited storage,ie the higher capacity memory card you buy, the more storage you get for apps. Hypothetically you can have upto 136GB I'd storage on the Lumia 520,525,620,625,630,720,820,1320 and 160GB on the Lumia 1520. Unlike iPhone which has a fixed capacity storage and is ridiculously overpriced, such that only hipsters and fools buy it for 'status' apparently, you have a wide range of options with WP.

720 is best in price. Good camera. Glance screen. Of yeah some it has wireless charging feature. Altough you need buy wireless charging pad for it

Anyway it's great. 512 mb of ram can handle most of social apps for good. And run games like aspalt 8 nicely
Well all memory demand games can't be instaled on 512mb of ram e.g GTA san andreas. So don't worry about performance

im personally not a fan of the iphone however saying only hipsters and fools buying it is a massive understatement, my own grandad uses a 5s and a lumia 720 and hates android because its complicated and poorly made
i agree most of our gen people in our country buy it for status but not all people buy it with that intent
people buy it to complete the apple ecosystem as well and also because it performs better for a layman than android
compared to windows phone,id say windows phone is a perfect mix of ios and android , taking the best of both along with its own unique additions and features from older successful os's like symbian, windows mobile, palm and bbos and is certainly the most value for money phone compared to both ios and android

lumia 920 is available for 20000 on flipkart and 18000 locally so it does fit your budget , though id opt against it because it lacks an sd card slot and is heavy(for my preference) so i got its smaller brother-the lumia 720,great battery life, camera, same unibody design, lighter etc
i love the 920 too but it wasnt my taste exactly, still a great phone though and is also sturdier ive heard

I second (or third?) the Lumia 920.

I was looking for a new phone in January, and went for the Lumia 920; got it for €260.
It can be got for around €300 on Amazon now as far as I know; and to me, its a better phone to the 925. Thats, to me anyway, just because it looks nicer :)

Atul you can get a mint condition unlocked 8X for about $135. Get a mint 810 or 822 which have removable battery and SD card support for about $110 . These can be found unlocked on eBay or the marketplace. Unlocked 928 run about $200 and 925 run about $170 or so.

One thing I hated most about Android is the fact that you need to root your phone and flash different roms to make it optimized.
and here I thought to be able to root it to optimize it, is a good thing, since other phones cant be rooted, and we are forced to do it their way.
i have 625.. it has 512mb.. no problem with running apps, but take note that you will have to wait a bit longer for some app to load. once launched though, it run smooth. this also happen when switching apps. I suggest to buy higher display resolution though.

Putting my two cents of what I like about wp that was not available in android jelly bean last time i used it are:
    1. A real native dark background which is totally integrated
    2. A really smooth experience unlike Android which at times had a few hiccups

On the other hand android had a lot of shortcuts and it was multitasking so one could see a snapshot of the running apps.
Nonetheless its again up to you to see what you want.

You know shortcuts to various setting options like wifi bt 'cellular data' 'rotation lock' etc. And by snapshots, i mean a quick way to check which apps are running and thus can be quickly terminated.

press and hold the back button to bring up a view of the running apps. You can terminate apps by pressing the 'x' or swiping the card down

go for 1320 unless camera doesn't matter too much to you, I'll recommend 820 for that purpose but again it'll be costly and you wont get that big HD screen. So yeah 1320!
