How to change the rom rm824 to any rom

Hi users I am using Lumia 820 rm 824 at&t mobile!! As it is a 4g supported when I am using 3g network it's showing 4g symbol due to this my battery is draining quickly! I am using the mobile in India! So I want to change to India rom so that it has a mobile network select!! Plz help me out on this!!! Presently I am using preview developed version 8.1

Dial ##3282# and go into the Field Test menu. Go to settings > network type > select 3G Only.

4G for the ATT phones is HSPA+, LTE shows as L or LTE. So even though your phone shows as 4G it's still HSPA+. What you can do is try setting the highest speed to 2G if that's what you want? Secondly battery backup on the 8.1 preview is generally bad so your phone would be using more battery than on stock Black firmware.
