This is my first post in WPC.
Tired of waiting for Windows 8.1 update , so I was thinking to go for devlopers preview.
Will my data (msgs, saved passwords, apps installed,photos,etc) be effected or will they remain as it is ?
But In back of my mind I am worried about my warranty as I own a l525 which is hardly 4-5 monts old.
So should I go for developer preview or should I wait for the offical release ?
What are the risk of losing my warranty if I opt for DP.
Please do suggest.

Let me do a quick run down for you.

Before upgrading, always backup everything. Settings -> Backup

Save your pictures to a computer or OneDrive.

Next, nothing should be effected during your update but there is always a possibility so that's why I said backup.

Using the DP8.1 shouldn't effect your warranty but if it ever happened that you needed to send it in, you can always flash it back to W8 using the Nokia Software Utility. Keep in mind this will erase everything on the phone.
