1520 battery worse after hot day

Last week, it was insanely hot and I was sitting inside(class) with the 1520 almost burning a hole in my pocket(Which I now realise is not a good idea, especially since the battery is non-removable) and since then, battery life seems to have decreased.

Have I permanently damaged the battery, or is it possibly slightly temporary?

8.1 preview, how do I check firmware version?

Some sports-apps and regular mail/news apps. I've blocked IE and TubePro from running in the background.

Are app's in the multitasking windows in a paused state, or are they uing power and in that case is there a button to close all apps runnning?

All 8.1 users have the same problem with battery, that will be fixed with the Cyan update.
And try to keep your device cool

if you go into phone settings/about/more information. They are but live tiles /push notification are trigger every minute/30 minute (depends on app refresh time ).

If you got Cortana tile on the start screen, unpin it. I did and the overheat problem has gone.

Yes, There is a Cortana tile. Long press on Cortana from the app list and pin it on your start screen.
