Hi everyone! I currently have the Nokia Lumia 620, which is almost a year old. I'm planning on getting a new phone next month, and I'm favoring the Lumia 925. My reasons are that its price is quite low, around US$ 350. And its main drawback, 16 GB of memory, isn't a problem to me. Plus, Lumia Cyan is available for the 925 in my country? So i want to ask, should I get it or wait for a 730 or 830? Thanks in advance!

I currently have 925, I've been using it for a year now. It's a decent phone but not amazing, my biggest problem is the battery life, which is awful. I can barely get 6 hours out of it on moderate use. The camera is okay but I don't have cyan to confirm any improvements. Personally, I would rather wait till October to see if any mid range pops up from Redmond.

I second that. Wait. Something will be announced soon enough, I'd imagine. If your device is still going strong hold off from replacing it, for now, and see what comes next!

I was previously a L620 owner for about a year and now I've upgraded to a L925. In my opinion, the upgrade was undoubtedly worth it.

Here's my advice to you, if you want to get a last gen model, get it as cheap as you can. In my case, I bought a used L925 at around 220 USD, which is almost the same price as the L620 I bought from a year ago.

The problem I see with waiting for a L730 / L830 is simply that, WAITING. How long can you wait? It's not even announced yet (My bet is on IFA 2014, which is Sept 5-10).

The other things is that the L925 still holds up well as a mid-tier phone (1GB RAM, 720p, LTE) and it's all wrap up in a premium feel body, which I doubt the L730/L830 will have that against the L925.

I bought a 925 to upgrade my 820 but after I got it I decided to keep my820 and I gave the 925 to my wife. She loves it and she get lots of compliments on how nice it looks. I kept the 820 because it has a removeable battery, a SD card slot, and wireless charging. I did not feel the 16GB limit in the 925 was enough. But I can't help but cast a look everytime she takes it out. Its a beautiful phone. If you are content with the 16gb limit I would get the 925. The insides of the 820 and 925 are the same except for the camera. 820 has a good camera; 925 have a Very good camera. I am hoping for a 830 soon with a bigger battery (only problem with the 820). Though I get on a adverage over the last year 1 day and 13 hours between charges.

Thanks a lot. Really helpful. My only concern is future proofing. I intend to keep the 925 for at least a year. Would I be missing out on something really worthwhile because of the last gen hardware. So far, the differences between the old generation and the icon/1520/*30 don't seem to be really game changing. What do you think?

Good point. Infact, me and my friend have a real confrontation over the 820 and 925. He prefers the 820. I the latter. He reasons SD card support and near-flagship specs. In my opinion the 925, being a flagship has an advantage in getting updates quicker, seeing as how it was the first to get cyan. Where I live the difference between the two is some $50-70. So one could go either way

Well as you said, the difference between the current and old gen isn't really much, so I won't expect the L925 to be missing out much on feature (otherwise they would have already advertise it to get people to upgrade)

Though I would say that the biggest concern you should care about is storage (and probably Miracast).
