Will my windows phone 8.0 App runs on windows phone 8.1 OS?

I'm currently developing a windows 8.0 app using visual studio for windows phone. Will my app runs on my phone if I upgrade my OS to windows phone 8.1 (Lumia Cyan)? Will it will be a problem when I simulate the app from the visual studio?

Yes, there should be no major problems.

there are WP7 apps still around and kicking IIRC.
