WhatsApp issues on 8.1 DP

Anyone else having issues with WhatsApp? I got frustrated to the point of uninstalling it from my 920. Drained the battery in a matter of hours.
Even after uninstalling I noticed a change in behaviour. I kept seeing "Resuming..." after opening my phone from the lock screen. Also, in notifications + actions where WhatsApp was I am now seeing: {218A0EBB-1585-4C7E-A9EC-054CF4569A79}

Is it that it wasn't uninstalled properly?

I've been using 8.1 DP since 14 April 2014 and also use WhatsApp. I haven't had any issues with battery.
