Sync photos from phone to tablet outdoors?

So, I'd like to be able to take photos on my Lumia 1020 and be able to view them on my surface pro as quickly and easily as possible. This would be outdoors and not guaranteed to be in an area with data coverage but I don't think wifi direct is supported?
I'd like for OneDrive to sync it but I'm not guaranteed signal and it doesn't support Lan sync like dropbox does although I'd buy a portable wireless router if that would work.
Does anyone know of a way I could do this?

With no available network you have two options. Bluetooth for direct file sharing, or usb sync cable! (I prefer the second)

Oh dear, might look into using a different camera then as there are portable wireless routers with apps that might do it on other platforms.
