How can I downgrade from 8.1 to 8 on Mac?

So I just bought a used 1520 and I loaded the 8.1 Dev Preview on it but ATT now has the 8.1 official firmware out.

I dont own a windows PC and cant use the Nokia tool that I have read about.

I have been advised to downgrade from 8.1 before downloading the new update.
Are there any other options to do this or how do I go about ensuring the new firmware from ATT for the 1520 gets on correctly?

The only option to downgrade to WP8 is to use the Nokia recovery software which is only compatible with Windows, with that the only thing you can do is to enable Boot camp (Install Windows in OSX) in your Mac and that way you can install the Nokia recovery software... another obvious and easy option is to borrow a Windows laptop/PC from a friend.

Note that downgrade from WP8.1 DP to WP8 also means the erasing of all your data in your L1520, so make sure to backup all you can.
