i cant decide between the 925 and 920 lumias...the 925 is newer and has an improved camera, but i like the more edgy shiny 920 with its punch of the red color...but the oldness of the 920 really is a turn off

there are basically differences for 925 are AMOLED screen, lesser weight, more tredny look, while 920 has IPS LCD screen (which produces better crispy text) and has built in wireless charging.
(plz note, wireless charging requires additional accessory i.e. wireless charger to be bought separately).
i will suggest 925, as it wins overall.

My take:

925:
Metal build, comes in shades of gray (still looks slick)
slightly improved camera
slimmer and lighter
AMOLED display (can't choose)
Qi requires external shell (potential sticking point for me)

920:
more memory (32 GB 925 is rare)
Qi built-in (I use wireless charging a lot)
LCD display, I like it, although I wouldn't be able to choose between the two techs.
colorful polycarbonate/plastic housing

you can't really bother with the 920 being old, because the two phones are practically identical under-the-hood.

I personally chose the 920.

920 is old but all specs are on par with 925. Internally they both use same components. After using a 925 for 6 months, I moved to a 920 because 16Gb of storage didn't suit me well. With Cyan/8.1, you have 3 times free storage space on the 920 compared to the 925.

920 is causing me a painful wrist because it is heavy and because I use it so much. I would go back to the 925 in a snap if it had 32Gb storage space. You can always buy a separate wireless charging cover.

The 920 is capable of DC-HSDPA+ 42 Mbps. I believe the speaker and the call quality give the node to the 920. From MobileTechReview for the 920, "and the Lumia 920 has very good call quality with full and clear voice on both ends." The call quality when on speaker will be better on the 920. The build quality is better on the 920 and the built in wireless charging along with the Nokia charger NFC is a nice touch. I will hand it to Windows Phone, I think they beat Android in LTE speeds. I've yet to compare the 920, but I will soon with the HTC ONE S DC-HSDPA+. Were I live, it's faster than LTE.... noticeably faster.

The "heavyness" in the 920 is the most unattractive thing to me (and also the plastic casing which is slippery like a soap). I have a white 920 and while I have absolutely no issues with its speed (well, sometime the audio in games pop), I am considering getting a 925 on xmas just to get rid of the extra weight.
