windows 8.1 update

I live in ireland and have updated to the new windowns 8.1 on lumia 520, but cortana doesnt seem to be on my phone.

Ok.. This is what you need to do

Change keyboard to USA English
Phone will restart

Change region to USA
Phone will restart

Change to USA language (it will download language)

Phone will reset

MAKE SURE KEYBOARD AND LANGUAGE USA/ENGLISH IS ABOVE ENGLISH ONLY IN THE SETTINGS OR IT WONT WORK

your now up and running with Cortana *smiles*

Cortana is only available in the USA with the Windows Phone 8.1 update (unless you put all of your settings to United States). HOWEVER, if you update to Windows Phone 8.1 UPDATE 1 Cortana should be available to all English speaking countries as an "Alpha" stat. You have to make sure your region is in Ireland and your keyboard as either USA or UK, they're some people who say that you need to also change the "Speech" option to either USA English or UK English to have her work.

I am in the UK and have 8.1 with cyan. I have Cortana by doing the steps I mentioned above. Still no official Cortana yet for england/ireland that I am aware off. Could be wrong but so far I haven't heard anything
